The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Chengdu encompasses luxury. This November, I decided to take a trip with my boys and treat ourselves to a mini vacation in Chengdu, China, the capital of Sichuan Province, which is also known as the hometown of the Giant Panda as well as the capital of Chinese Gastronomy – Chengdu was the first city in Asia to be recognized as a City of Gastronomy by UNESCO.
The hotel boasts a large collection of contemporary art and spectacular panoramic views of the city skyline and Chengdu’s Wenshu Yuan Monastery. The lobby is located on the 25th floor and from the moment you step in, you’ll immediately know what kind of property this is. I stayed at the Executive Suite with the city view and access to Club Lounge, which it offers 5 complimentary meals including breakfast, light lunch, afternoon tea, hors-d’oeuvres, desserts, and cordials – always a great value when traveling with kids and I was very pleased. The hotel also offers a complimentary Mercedes-Benz drop-off service for those staying at the hotel Club level and that’s how we toured parts of the city during our stay at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Chengdu. The bathroom was made all in marble with Asprey toiletries and a flat-screen TV on the bathtub.
The hotel is conveniently located near the Jinli Ancient Street, Kuanshai Alley, and Du Fu Thatched Cottage. The Giant Panda Breeding Base is only a 30-minute drive and a must-visit when in Chengdu.
