Retreats and Resorts For Wellness And (Digital) Detox

Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Snapchat, you name it. Truth is, it’s pretty rare to go a day without checking our social media accounts on these platforms. But, let’s say we just forget about it for a day. One. Day. How about two, or even a week! Would you? Believe me, for the past few months, I’ve been trying to live in the present, and it changes everything, completely.

The image of being disconnected that’s presented to us these days is absolutely exhausting. It might sound cheesy but it’s so true. Simple things like know how to appreciate and be thankful for whom we are. Respect what we have. Live each moment fully. Have a sense of humor, perspective, gratefulness, and know how to love our dreams for what they truly are. Think about it.

So here’s my take on this matter, how do you feel about taking the day off, or even better, a weekend getaway to fully immerse yourself on a digital detox for the sake of getting your life back in-tune? Remember, omm? Nowadays, the overwhelming amount of time and energy we pour into these digital ‘distractions’ are absolutely insane. Raise your hand if you agree. People – any other busy mom out there? – should be placing more value on experiential moments where they can selfishly enjoy themselves without any guilt for loudly saying ME FIRST! I know it’s easier said than done, but that’s what it is to be human. The moments of pure self-connectedness are rare and the answer is simple: give yourself a chance.
